A Note from SOLID HANG

La Turista, is at heart, theatre of the absurd. Propelled by two main characters, Salem and Kent, whose propensity to es- cape reality is matched by their willingness to believe the truth of their fantasy world. Set in Mexico and the United States, it is a comedy that contends with issues of cultural identity, globalization, religious tolerance and our perception of all things foreign. La Turista, written and produced in 1966, won the Obie Award for Distinguished Play.
